I have a very vague recollection that listing out the "army" (twice!) as I did in this chapter was my crafty way of stretching this chapter out, and making it look longer than it really is! That notwithstanding, let's be honest - it's still not much of an army to overthrow a kingdom!

My favourite parts of this chapter, however, have to be the references to the "plans". The fact that they are "just as cunning" even after being changed amuses me a little but the fact that the giant is kept in reserve purely to enable a retreat tickles me pink!

I have no idea where the "swamp woggles" came from. They appear to be one of the few original creations I brought to this book. Better than that though, is the fact that their appearance seems to have been modelled on Edvard Munch's The Scream. Has to be a coincidence ... I can't believe I was aware of that when I was nine?!
