Prince Sashtan is a "novel" which I wrote at some point between the ages of eight and nine. I know I was no older than nine because, by the age of ten, I was working on a second "novel" (such ambition!) and I suspect I was only eight because the handwriting in the second is a little neater than in this one!

Prince Sashtan claims to be the second in a series "inspired by" (i.e. copied from!) C.S. Lewis's tales of Narnia. Part 1 was, in fact, never written but - according to the back cover (yes, I made both front and back covers out of old cardboard) - that was to have been titled The Unicorn, the Scorp and the Ring. No prizes for guessing where that title came from!

The only innovation I can claim to have brought to the table was the inclusion of a super hero costume although I suspect that was just because I wanted to include a super hero in the illustrations!

The illustrations are those I drew at the time. The text here has obviously been re-typed but, in places, I've kept the grammar, spelling, paragraphing and punctuation exactly as it was originally written. Where I have made small changes (substituting full stops for commas, paragraphing dialogue etc), these have been merely to make it easier to read. The original hand-written pages can be seen by clicking on the links below each chapter.

Please do feel free to leave any comments in the Prince Sashtan forum. But be gentle - I was only young!
