Ah, the old "manipulative Gods" ending! It's a bit deus ex machina considering we hadn't mentioned the Gods before this point but I suppose it must have been influenced by the 1960s Jason and the Argonauts movie (especially since I don't think I'd seen the abysmal Clash of the Titans when this comic was written!)

I don't mind the fact that I borrowed ideas from the movies (hey, they borrowed them from Homer!) but, even bearing in mind my youth at the time, there's one thing that bugs me about this page today ... why Olympian Gods? The characters are Ancient Romans, not Greeks!

Anyway, that concludes this particular foray into the comics I made as a wee lad. If, for whatever reason, you want to see more, try these musty old relics which I also found gathering dust in my attic:
