A word on the footnotes ...
I don't know why I've mentioned the date 300 A.D. Anyone with a passing knowledge of ancient history will be aware that Boadicea, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony all lived (and were dead) well before that date. I can only assume my own passing knowledge of ancient history had, when this was written, chosen to pass me by completely!
Despite having already changed his name, back when this comic was written Mohammed Ali was still more frequently referred to as Cassius Clay. That was the name under which he'd become famous and by which he was still widely known. It's hard to imagine now but the name change was seen as little more than a gimmick back then. Something in the same vein as "the artist formerly known as" ... Plus, for the purposes of this comic, Cassius is a far more "Roman" name than Mohammed anyway!
The word "interlude" in Panel 3 originally read "centre pages". That's because these old comics were (as I've said many times now!) drawn in a school exercise book and this one happened to span the centre pages which I wanted to use for a totally unrelated double-page spread. I changed it to interlude for the web because it's not actually the middle of this story (which, you may be relieved to hear, only has two more pages to go now!)
