Aah, the Gauls! As I've remarked somewhere in the notes to one of the other comics from my dim and distant past, back in the days before before PCs ruled the Earth, the Morecambe and Wise Show was as big an influence on teenage humour as Monty Python ever was.
And nowhere more so, it seems than in this particular case. Who can forget Glenda Jackson dressed as Cleopatra and sidling up to Eric Morecambe to ask: "Have you got the scrolls?"
Well anyone not born in the UK, I guess. And, probably, anyone who was born in the UK but who's young enough to think of Glenda Jackson as a Labour MP rather than an actress. My, how times change!
