I have no idea what the line "you never get what you expect from a cart-ridge" is supposed to mean. Bearing in mind this comic was made before the days of PCs and home printers, I'd assume it refers to the kind of ink-cartridge you used to put in a pen. Not that that actually sheds any light on the matter.

"You never get what you expect from a ...?" Nope. It's a mystery. If anyone has any ideas, all suggestions will be gratefully received (and possibly rewarded with a corned beef dumpling!)

Oh - note the return of the seagull from that other comic from my best-forgotten past, Dajbdevil. Nothing like a good leit motif!
