You can see in Panel 1 the great lengths to which I was prepared to go in my quest for realism. Why ... that house looks just like the one I cut and pasted for the cover! It would be quite impressive, were it not for the fact that the trees seem to be blowing in the opposite direction to the rain!
In Panels 2 and 3, the only thing of any note is, perhaps, the wall paper. Not that there's anything special about the wall paper itself, of course, it's just the fact that I bothered to draw it in at all. I know many artists argue that background detail should not be included unless there's a specific need to but, I'm afraid, I lean more towards the view that it should always be included unless there's a specific reason not to. These panels show that I held that view even back in the days when it meant I'd have to draw the backgrounds in myself!
And, no, I'm not going to comment on the aluminium faucets joke. I'd rather it was allowed to die quietly.
