I remember the first time I learned there was such a thing as the "Serious Crimes Squad" and being immediately amused. To my fevered imagination, the name automatically pre-supposed there must be a "Silly Crimes Squad" and, if there was, I couldn't help wondering whether the squad itelf was silly or whether it merely investigated silly crimes. I still don't know the answer.
Panel 2 intrigues me. It's inclusion is quite surreal and shows just how much my teenage sense of humour was shaped by over-exposure to Monty Python and Spike Milligan's various "Q" series. I am now sorely tempted to try something similar in one of my current comics but somehow I don't think it would be fair to the artists I'm working with!
Not quite sure why I didn't finish adding the wood grain to the fence in Panel 3. I'm inclined to say that half of it is meant to be painted. I know that's almost certainly not true but it sounds better than admitting I must have forgotten!
