"Whoever heard of a sensible super hero?" See - Alan Moore gets all the credit, but I was deconstructing the super hero genre a full decade before "Watchmen"! Okay, so he did it better than me. But then he wasn't fifteen at the time!

The other line of interest here (to me, at least) is the reference to taking a taxi to get across town. Nothing remarkable about that in itself except that - when I wrote the script for "Shades" all those years later, I did actually create a taxi driver (Frank) whose job it was to ferry heroes around town. Of course, I wrote "Shades" in a far more serious vein (go read it now if you haven't already!) and wholly oblivious to the fact that this particular scene was lurking in my back catalogue!
