If the first of my columns for Comic Avalanche was a plea to readers to be proud of their comics (see Defending the Outpost), this - the second column - was and is a call for creators to make something that readers' can actually be proud of.
The focus here is mainly against on-going titles, not because they can't be fun (which they clearly can) but because of the problems I believe they create for good story-telling.
Looking back, perhaps the saddest comment on the industry is my reflection that, of the whole slew of super heroes pumped out by Marvel and DC, only Jason Todd has been allowed to die and stay dead. A reflection made even sadder by the news that, in the wake of the bloated debacle that was "Infinite Crisis", it seems that even he may now be resurrected after all!
And they wonder why their sales are falling!
