Okay, I know what you're thinking. You've just spent the whole of Issue 1 getting to know Jeste and Boone and now they're gone!

Actually, that's not quite true. You see the two figures at the bottom of the page? They belong to a race known as the talir (or "Outsiders" to those who live in the Interior of the Spires). Look just above the black hat of the figure on the right and you'll see two tiny figures among the columns in the square below. Those figures are Jeste and Boone!

You'll be seeing more of them soon, I promise, but - in the meantime - just take a few minutes to appreciate the artwork on this page. Echoing the opening page of Issue 1 Fabrizio has once again given us a glimpse of the gorgeous future-Gothic architecture of the City but this time we have a dizzying perspective, looking straight down.

Bill Key's colours are as cool as ever so that, even as we scroll down to the characters in the foreground, our gaze is drawn down into the depths below.
