I'm a what!? Boone
A visitor to the Spires, Boone is a Captain in the quasi-military police force known as the Limiters. His regiment is a unit of detectives known as the 93rd Legatees, based in the south of Mobrak, a quarter known as the Deepings. He has a wife and two young daughters.

Failing to comply with the wishes of a Governor is treason! Arkan
Governor Gaidol Arkan is the official representative of the Arkan family on the Governance, the body which rules the Spires. Arkan also holds the position of Minister for Crisis Administration although this is very much a courtesy title, the Arkan family having long since ceased to wield any real power among the Spires' thirty-three "Founding Families".

I - I don't think I can do this ... Trent
Governor Markus Trent is the official representative of the Trent family on the Governance, the body which rules the Spires. He has dedicated the last few years of his life to the preparation of the Protection Bill, a piece of draft legislation which would bring the largely independent "Coven of Sorceresses" under the protection of the Governance. Although Markus himself is an unassuming individual, the Trents are still widely respected among the Founding Families.

Would you like to pleasure me now? Jeste
The Lady Jeste is an assassin, trained by the Startan Guild and now officially employed by Arkan to carry out state-sanctioned assassinations. Like all slythes, she is by nature carefree and given to indulge her appetites, sexual and otherwise. A slythe's natural ability to suppress those inclinations for a few seconds can be extended by up to two hours with the correct dose of "gruhal", a highly addictive substance which the Guilds introduce to all their slythe trainees at an early age.

I'm just ... taking care of a problem. Jamyl
Although, trained by the Startan Guild along with Jeste, Jamyl does not work for a Governor. Instead, for reasons that will become clear in Issue 2 (and which I do not therefore intend to disclose here!) Jamyl has become a freelance assassin.
