Regular readers will know by now that my characters have a tendency to be a little ... verbose! When I'm lettering, I do try to cut as many superfluous lines as I can but, wordy writer that I am, I live in constant fear of cutting something that is actually important!

The dialogue I cut from this page was an explanation of why Dominion has dismissed most of his troops. Having completed his assignments for Bedlam, he is now simply moving out. (His occupation of the power station was, after all, only to ensure that Bedlam wouldn't double-cross him.)

I decided that the story didn't really need that explanation and that it's enough simply to know that there are only a small number of troops left. In case I was wrong though ... now you know!

Oh, and remember I've always said that I wanted people to be able to ignore all the underlying themes (you know ... if they really want to!) and simply enjoy Shades as a straightforward super hero story? Well, with costumed good guys and armoured bad guys engaged in aerial combat, this page is about as "straightforward" as it gets!
