Another dramatic page as we hurtle towards the end of this chapter. Online, Chapter 8 falls right in the middle of the second of three volumes. When we eventually produce a print version of Shades, however, there will only be two volumes and this chapter will close Volume 1.

We have one more page to go, but I think it's pretty apparent already that we'll be closing the first volume of the print edition on a nail-biter of a cliff-hanger!
