I said at the beginning of this chapter that it contained two of my favourite scenes in the whole of Shades. The first was the four-page Victorian sequence right at the beginning. This is the first page of the second.
It's only a simple little domestic scene but Harsho's work on all three characters really brings them alive so that, when I read it now, I still smile even though I wrote it and even though I must have re-read it dozens of times!
The other thing that's quite nice is that - just as this chapter brought all our heroes together for the first time - it's also the first time we see Stan, Jill and Sunil all in one room.
And that room, by the way, (Stan's living room) is modelled on the real-life house of someone pretty close to me. I won't say whose because I wouldn't want legions of Shades fans to descend upon it making comparisons!
