What can I tell you about Chapter 7? Well, for a start, it contains two of my favourite sequences from the whole book ...
One of those is some way away yet, just before the end of the chapter. It's another of Stan's little domestic scenes and, whilst I don't want to give too much away, I rather like it because it's the first time we see Stan together with both his daughter Jill and Sunil. Plus it makes me laugh. I know, I know, I shouldn't laugh at stuff I've written myself but hopefully, when you see it, it'll make you laugh too. In which case, maybe you'll forgive me!
The second sequence is about to start right now. The first four pages of this chapter were very much in my mind from the very earliest planning stages and, along with the flashbacks to Doug's wartime exploits, they kind of define the book for me. I knew that, for the book to feel the way I'd imagined it, this was one of the scenes that we had to get right. I needn't have worried - as so often, Harsho exceeded all my expectations and drew what may just be the best four pages in the book.
Oh, and if that's not enough ... at the very end, you'll even get a quick glimpse of our third and final villain. (You know, sometimes I think we spoil you!)
