Meet Credo, the second of our villains to make an appearance. Like Dominion in the Prologue, he's only making a brief appearance this time round but we'll be seeing more of him and learning something about his background as the story unfolds and the main plot-threads begin to come together.
As his name (and the dialogue on this page) suggests, there is a religious angle to Credo's particular brand of villainy. When designing Credo, I knew from the very beginning exactly what he would represent in story terms but designing his appearance gave me a problem. Whatever I came up with, he always seemed too similar to the other more "mystical" characters, such as the Shaman. (I just kept wanting to dress him in robes!)
Fortunately, Harsho's very first concept sketch for this character hit on this rather smartly attired figure. For some reason, the black tux put me in mind of the more OTT TV evangelists from the 1960s and 1970s and I loved it immediately.
