From the earliest stages of planning, Boo was always going to have a chariot of some description. I'm not sure at what stage I stopped imagining it as a horse-drawn affair and allowed it to become the car you see on this page but it was pretty early on.

For all that, however, it wasn't until Harsho had begun the artwork for this chapter that something else struck me. Female super heroes don't tend to have vehicles, do they?

Wonder Woman has an invisible plane (a fairly pointless accessory given that she can fly) and, since it's considered sexy, one or two are occasionally allowed to sit astride a motorbike but, for the most part, their creators seem reluctant to give them a driving licence. Joyce would doubtless see a misogynist conspiracy in there somewhere!

Anyway, the more I thought about it, the more appropriate it seemed. Boo had already described her women's sanctuary as her "Batcave" and so the idea that she should also be the only one of our heroes to have her own Batmobile just seemed so ... Boo!
