I've made no secret of the fact that Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns was one of the books that led me to want to write a graphic novel of my own.

I've also confessed that my preference for showing a character's thoughts during action sequences was directly inspired by DKR.

In the case of the last two panels of this page, however, Boo's internal dialogue is unintentionally far closer to a certain sequence in DKR than I would have liked. (Book 1, Page 31, for anyone who's interested!)

I have tried to find alternative wording for these two panels but, after a long struggle, I had to give up. I just couldn't think of any alternative lines that I liked as much as these, and so I let them stand.

Think of them as a tribute!
