I don't really need to say anything about this page, do I? I could tell you about how I struggled to get the "feel" of a parliamentary address just right. Or how difficult it was to letter that particular speech with all its long, very formal words. But that's all rather by-the-by, isn't it?

The one thing you can't help but notice here is the breathtaking job Nickel has done on capturing the House of Commons in full session and the excellent work by Qoiri in making sure every individual MP has been properly coloured. If you're not impressed by the artwork on this page, I'm guessing you'd find fault with a Leonardo!

I'm sure you've noticed by now that the first page of each chapter of Shades is a full, single-panel page leading the reader into the next sequence of events. To establish the sense of heightened threat, this particular page needed to carry a certain ... I don't know. Can a page have gravitas? Whatever it is, Nickel and Qoiri have certainly nailed it!

Don't forget, you can leave a comment (or ask a question) in the Shades forum!
