When I wrote the script for Shades, I had one big concern. Whilst I may have wanted it to be other things as well, it was important that Shades should work as an out-and-out super hero story, too. So ... how long will a fan of the genre keep reading without a spot of costumed fisticuffs?

As you'll know if you've read everything up to this point, the story has had its share of action, starting with a robbery (and explosion!) followed by a kidnapping, an aerial dogfight, a chase, an armed break-in and - finally - Stan's attack on Mitch and his gang. But, for all that, we haven't had any costumed heroics. Would readers be prepared to wait for nearly four whole chapters?
