I knew when I wrote the script for "Shades" that Chapter 3 was always going to be quite difficult to get right.

To some extent, it's a transition point. Despite the fictional action sequences, the previous two chapters are both grounded very much in the real world. Chapter 3, however, takes the story into a rather more mystical area.

There are, of course, plot-specific reasons for this change of tone and there will be other, even more fantastical sequences later in the story. The challenge at this juncture, however, was to introduce those elements without stepping too far away from the sense of reality established so far.

I think we pulled it off. Hopefully you will, too!
