For me, as much as I like this page, it didn't strike me with the same force as the splash of Tower Bridge at the beginning of Chapter 1. Perhaps I was getting used to Harsho producing miracles by this stage!
It was (and is!), an important page however and - together with Pages 2 and 3 - this was the page that convinced me that the plan to use a different approach for each of the book's many flashback sequences would not only look spectacular but would actually work as an effective story-telling device.
The design of the Leviathan went through several iterations. I knew I wanted something reminiscent of the huge dirigible airships but, at the same time, something solid and iron-clad. Eventually we found enough rivets to hold this monster together!
