The first eight pages of "Perfect Storm" were drawn long before I was involved. The first six had also been coloured and lettered.
As a writer, I felt the copy could be improved upon and so I suggested some changes to Rob and, fortunately, he loved them (or so he said!)
Sticking as closely as possible to Rob's original ideas, I shifted the copy away from third-party narration and introduced the internal, dialogue. I think this helps us to get closer to Erin. One example of this is that I could now include a reference to Erin's love of haute couture, underlining her femininity and hinting at a sophisticated lifestyle.
