Notes by writer and artist Lee Munday.
The lads on the zebra crossing is a nod to my favourite Beatles album, Abbey Road (my version is actually on Fordbridge Road in Ashford, Middlesex). The reason for Rich's state of undress will become apparent in Issue 3.
“Poon” is not ‘porn’ spelt wrong as my dad thought (so little faith in my writing abilities it's a wonder he lets me send him birthday cards). It’s an abbreviation of ‘poontang’. Women!
As I’m sure you already know, the whole tag-line is a piss-poor take on the original Dawn Of The Dead’s (my favourite zombie film).
The zombie face is part of a larger whole. It’s from the poster for The Lumbering Dead film, the lads go to see at the end of the story. You’ll be able to see it in all its glory on the cover of issue 5.
