I think this is a lovely page. The page-width first panel is stylised in such a way that, as simple as it may seem at first glance, there is a wealth of detail for those who care to appreciate it.

From the inter-lacing of the grasses in the foreground, to the depth suggested by the overlapping trees in the distance or the rough rectangles that provide the trees with a bark-like texture ... Kyri has filled this panel with so much atmosphere, I can't help but be impressed.

These are the kind of pictures that convince me I was right to persevere in the search for the right artist, rather than settling for one who may have had talent but who was somehow just not right for this particular story.

And then, of course, there's Leni herself as she runs hides and stumbles through the page ... the very picture of vulnerability!
